Why Do People Love the Beach?

I have often thought about this.  After all, the beach, or sand is nothing more than crushed up rock and coral.  Why do so many people search far and wide for the best beaches?  Why do many people choose beach destinations for their holidays? 

Here are my top 10 reasons why people love the beach.

1) Beaches are associated with warm, tropical destinations

2) Beaches are a great place to people watch

3) Beaches are connected with large bodies of water where you can enjoy water sports such as snorkeling, surfing, jet skiing, etc.

4) Beaches are a great place to relax and let go of the daily stresses of life

5) Beaches are often associated with great child hood memories of travels to exotic destinations

6) It's free!

7) The sound of water lapping against the shore

8) Finding that perfect secluded beach all to yourself

9) There is nothing quite like a beach party BBQ

10) ...because it's the best place to work on your tan!
