The Secrets Hotel & Resorts Huatulco Opens December 3rd!

One week ago, we were very fortunate to have a private tour of the new Secrets Hotel in Huatulco...iPhone Spy Phone photos attached.  It is full steam ahead as they prepare to open on December 3rd and while there is still a lot of work to be done...it looks like this time, they will open!

As an adult only hotel (18 years old +) this place appears to be set up for fun times and all of the indulgences for a relaxing and entertaining holiday.  The bar has definitely been raised, and this will surely be the nicest hotel in Huatulco!

It all starts at the entrance where you roll into a grand entryway complete with reflecting pool and Las Vegas style grandure with the black metallic facade.  Upon entering the massive foyer, your eye can't help but be drawn towards the impressive views of the Pacific Ocean.  As you stroll through this area you are greeted by a long corridor extending out from the main reception area...you are now in the Sky Lounge.  Perched some 50 metres above the beach below, this has to be the most exciting spot to sip a cold cocktail.  While this area wasn't quite finished yet, I'm sure it will be amazing.

There are two massive pools that will serve 399 rooms.  The lower suites have their own pool area, while the other ground floor units each have their own jacuzzi's...nice!  Note the long pool that fronts the lower rooms here and the grassy area in front.  The beach itself is just steps beyond.

Here you can see the palapas on the beach as well as the large palapa in the bottom left of the photo...you will never be too far from the bar as they serve drinks and snacks here.

The pool on the east side of the property is even larger than the other one and it contains a swim up bar (centre). Also, aside from the standard buffet restaurants there will be a collection of five "a la carte" style restaurants huddled around a central courtyard.  And let's not forget about the spa!  The spa is situated on another high point of the property and will take advantage of the amazing views.

If anyone stays here, please let us know what you think.  One thing is for sure...Huatulco's profile has just been raised a notch!

  1. Can't wait to hear what people say about staying at Secrets Huatulco. I'm anxious to hear if all of the restaurants and spa are open.
